Let's go green!! Our theme this time brings together a variety of ingredients to make a superb selection of green cocktails for you to try out. Make your friends green with envy with these great cocktail ideas from in-the-spirit!

Surprisingly, we haven't just used one cocktail ingredient to achieve the varying shades of green in these cocktails. We have used a variety of cocktail liqueurs and combinations of ingredients to produce these vibrant green colours with a range of flavours and styles suitable for all occasions. Why not give them a go?

Apple Martini

Apple Martini Our first suggestion is the Apple Martini - this is the USA version of the recipe. (Check the recipe index for the UK version too!) As their city is known as the Big Apple no wonder this cocktail is popular with New Yorkers! So easy to make and using only 3 ingredients: De Kuyper Sour Apple liqueur, vodka and lime cordial. Simply shake all the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with loads of ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. The vibrant green of the De Kuyper Sour Apple liqueur and the hint of lime cordial give this cocktail its gorgeous colour.

Green Eyes

Green Eyes Green Eyes- from the ingredients, you wouldn't necessarily expect this cocktail to be green. Made with vodka, De Kuyper Blue Curaçao, orange juice and lime cordial - the combination of the intense blue of the De Kuyper Blue Curaçao and the orange juice gives the green hues of this great cocktail. Build the ingredients one by one in a highball glass half filled with cubed ice and muddle them all together to achieve the shade of deep turquoise/green.

Heavenly Heavenly - this cocktail is created using an unexpected combination of flavours and colours which produce a vivid green drink. The ingredients are Disaronno Amaretto with its rich taste of marzipan and honey, De Kuyper Blue Curaçao for tangy, exotic citrus flavours and its intense colour as well as pineapple juice and some white wine (medium to dry wine works best here). Shake all the ingredients together well in a cocktail shaker and pour directly into a highball glass half filled with cubed ice. To finish off this recipe, add a slice of freshly cut pineapple.

Mint Cooler

Mint Cooler Mint Cooler - so we couldn't make it through a green theme without throwing in a couple of recipes which include De Kuyper Crème de Menthe (green)! Using this bright green liqueur is an easy way to ensure that the finished cocktail recipe colour is green! A straight forward cocktail to make using 3 ingredients which gives a long minty drink with a hint of spice. Shake together the gin and the De Kuyper Crème de Menthe Green in a cocktail shaker with loads of ice. Strain into a highball glass half filled with ice and top up with ginger ale for a refreshing cocktail.

Mint Cream

Mint Cream Mint Cream - This is more of a creamy, light mint flavour - a bit like liquid mint flavoured chocolate - using white rum, De Kuyper Crème de Menthe green and cream (single cream works well here for mixing). Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with a generous amount of ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and for a simple yet daring finishing touch, add a stemmed maraschino cherry.

As always, please enjoy all cocktail recipes recommended by in-the-spirit responsibly.
