Disaronno Amaretto

image
Disaronno is an amaretto liqueur. Contrary to popular opinion Disaronno is not made from almonds, but from pure distilled alcohol, burnt sugar, herbs and fruits soaked in apricot kernel oil (the fruit found within the seed). The flavour of Disaronno is reminiscent of marzipan and Bakewell tart though is remarkably fruity and sweet.

Disaronno is 28% ABV.

Dry Orange (Orange Curaçao)

image
Also known as Orange Curaçao – this liqueur belongs to the family of Curaçao liqueurs but is quite distinctive from the blue style made by De Kuyper. Made from distilled extracts of lemons, oranges and curaçao fruit blended with orange bitters, De Kuyper have created a superb blend of sweet orange notes with flavours from the peels of bitter orange fruit varieties. This is another liqueur you are more likely to find in a bar than your local supermarket – as it is widely used by professional mixologists.

De Kuyper Dry Orange is 30% ABV.

Gin

image
Essentially gin is distilled grain alcohol flavoured with different herbs and spices known as botanicals. The main flavour ingredient in gin is juniper berries, which gives it a distinctive dry taste. Other botanicals can include coriander, angelica root, citrus peels and liquorice.
In-the-spirit recommends Hendricks Gin which is handcrafted in small batches using a 19th century pot still. Instead of boiling the ingredients like many other gins, the still 'bathes' them in vapours at a leisurely pace - the more leisurely the distillation process, the more thorough the instillation. The proprietary recipe for Hendricks Gin includes traditional botanicals such as juniper, coriander and citrus peels and an unexpected infusion of cucumber and rose petals gives Hendricks Gin its truly unique and unusual flavour.

Hendricks Gin is 41.4% ABV.

Grenadine

image
Grenadine is made using pomegranate juice and sugar to create a sweet, fruit flavoured syrup. In-the-spirit recommends De Kuyper Grenadine which is used as a flavour and colour enhancer in cocktails such as the Tequila Sunrise. De Kuyper Grenadine is non-alcoholic and so also suitable for use in non-alcoholic drinks. It is a deep red colour with a fruity and syrupy taste with the flavour of summer fruits. Please note that there are some Grenadine products on the market which are alcoholic - always check the bottle label carefully to be absolutely sure.
